MIER—PARYS (“MIER—PARYS,” “we,” “our,” “us”) is an independent watchmaker based in Montréal, Québec. This notice explains how we collect, use, share, and safeguard your personal information across our websites, client-service channels, and authorised retail network.

We collect the following categories of personal information:

Identifiers. Name, postal address, email, telephone, order number, serial-numbered warranty card. Payment data. Card type, last four digits, transaction ID (full card details remain with our PCI-DSS-compliant payment processor). Usage data. IP address, browser type, device ID, pages viewed, time spent (captured automatically via cookies, pixels, and similar technologies). Preference data. Wish-list items, strap size, marketing opt-ins (provided by you or inferred from site activity). Service records. Repair history and communications with Client Services (generated during warranty or return interactions). Children’s data: We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors under the age of 16.

3. How and why we use your data

Order processing & delivery (contractual necessity). We use your information to confirm payment, ship your watch, and issue your digital warranty. Client services & repairs (contractual necessity). We create RMAs, arrange insured shipping, and keep you informed throughout any service or repair. Marketing communications (consent / legitimate interest). We send new-release announcements and personalised product suggestions based on your preferences. Site analytics & optimisation (legitimate interest). We analyse site performance to improve page speed, detect errors, and prevent fraud. Legal & compliance (legal obligation). We maintain tax records, perform anti-fraud checks, and manage product recalls as required by law. Legal bases note: We reference EU GDPR categories but apply equivalent standards under Québec’s Law 25, PIPEDA, and CCPA/CPRA.

4. Sharing your information

We never sell your data. We share it only with:

Service providers. Payment gateways, insured couriers, email platforms, IT hosts (all under confidentiality agreements). Authorised Service Centres (ASC). To facilitate warranty or repair work in your region. Legal authorities. When required by law, court order, or to enforce our terms.

5. International transfers

Your data may be stored or processed in jurisdictions where we or our partners operate. All cross-border transfers are protected by Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

6. Retention

Transactions & warranties. Retained for the lifetime of the watch plus ten (10) years to satisfy tax obligations, warranty traceability, and statutory retention rules (e.g., Québec’s Law 25, CCPA/CPRA). Marketing data. Retained until you unsubscribe or after three years of inactivity. Cookies & similar technologies. Held from session-only up to 24 months, depending on purpose.

7. Your rights

EU/UK (GDPR): Access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, objection; lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Québec and Canada (PIPEDA/Law 25): Access and correct your personal information; challenge our compliance. California (CCPA/CPRA): Know, correct, delete, limit use of sensitive personal information; opt out of sale or sharing; non-discrimination.
